Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Butter Unsalted
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1/2 cup Onions Finely chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic Finely minced
  • 1 cup Vodka
  • 2 cups Chicken broth Low sodium
  • 1 can Crushed tomatoes 28 oz. can
  • 1/4 tsp Red chili flakes
  • 1/4 tsp Dried oregano
  • Salt To taste
  • Pepper To taste
  • 1 box Penna pasta 1 pound box
  • 1/2-3/4 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp Basil Fresh, Roughly chopped
  • 1 tbsp Parsley Fresh, Roughly chopped
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese Shredded, For garnish

Instructions

  • Heat butter and oil in a large nonstick pot over medium-high heat.
  • Add onions and saute until soft and translucent.
  • Pour vodka and cook to reduce it for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add garlic and saute until fragrant.
  • Add broth, crushed tomatoes, red chili flakes, oregano, salt, pepper, uncooked pasta.
  • Stir and bring everything to a boil.
  • Lower the heat to Medium and continue cooking uncovered until pasta is al dente. Be sure to mix often to prevent the pasta from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  • If sauce starts to become too thick and pasta is still uncooked, add a little more broth or water to thin it out.
  • Reduce heat to Low and pour heavy cream.
  • Add basil, parsley and mix everything together.
  • Garnish with parmesan cheese and Enjoy!
