Quick and easy portobello mushroom pizza recipe, homemade in 20 minutes in one pan. Vegetarian, gluten free, low carb, healthy alternative to regular pizza.

  • 4 Portobello mushrooms
  • 1 cup Pizza sauce
  • 1/3 cup Toppings E.g. Olives, Peppers, Onions, Tomatoes, Pepperoni e.t.c.
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese For topping
  • 1 tsp Red chili flakes Optional, For topping


  1. Clean mushrooms with a damp cloth and remove the stems and gills with a spoon (Some people don't remove gills. It's a personal preference). 

  2. Place the mushrooms on a cookie tray sprayed with oil. Make sure the tops are facing down.

  3. Spread pizza sauce on each mushroom.

  4. Top off with your choice of vegetables and meats and lots of mozzarella cheese.

  5. Sprinkle some Italian seasoning on top of the pizzas.

  6. Place the tray in the middle rack of the oven and bake at broiled/grill setting for 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted and is slightly golden brown.

  7. Remove tray from oven and top off each portobello pizza with parmesan cheese, additional Italian seasoning and crushed red peppers. Enjoy!
