One Pan Tomato Sandwich

Classic, Southern, quick and easy tomato sandwich recipe, homemade with simple ingredients in 10 minutes. Loaded with mayonnaise and fresh tomatoes.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices Bread Classic choice is white. Can also use whole wheat or artisan bread
  • 2-3 tbsp Mayonnaise Full fat
  • 2 Tomatoes Fresh, Ripe, Large, Washed, Patted dry, Sliced about 1/2 inch thick
  • Salt To taste
  • Pepper To taste

Instructions

  1. Spread a thick layer of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread.

  2. Place sliced tomatoes on 2 slices of bread.

  3. Sprinkle salt and pepper on top.

  4. Cover tomatoes with 2 remaining slices of bread (mayonnaise side down). You will end up with 2 sandwiches.

  5. Press gently on top to secure everything together.

  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!
