Friday nights are pizza nights in my house. Sometimes, we make everything from scratch and other times, we order in. My mom was visiting us a few years ago and made this for us and it was truly love at first bite! This is just as delicious as my Easy Zucchini Pizza (One Pan) as well as this Portobello Mushroom Pizza (One Pan) and this Eggplant Pizza (One Pan).

Key ingredients
- Flour- You need to use self-rising flour, which already includes some baking powder.
- Yogurt- Use plain unflavored full fat Greek yogurt for best results.

Variations
- For additional flavor- mix in ¼-1/2 teaspoon dried herbs of your choice, seasoning blends like Italian or Cajun or individual dry spices like black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder e.t.c.
- To make 1 large individual pizza- Don't divide the dough in half. Simply spread the dough in a 12 inch round pan.
- To make mini pizzas- Divide the dough into 5 equal portions. Roll those out individually, place them on a lined baking tray, add your toppings and bake.
- I used two 7 inch pans- I know that this is not a typical pan size. If you don't have that size, you can use two 6 inch pans for a thicker crust or two 8 inch pans for a slightly thinner crust.
- Use full fat yogurt- For maximum richness.
- For a tangier flavor- Use half yogurt and half sour cream.
- Try a unique pizza sauce topping- Such as my Garlic White Pizza Sauce (One Pot) or this Spicy Arrabbiata Sauce (One Pot) or even this Easy Basil Pesto Sauce (Blender).
- Topping ideas- Onions, peppers, tomatoes, olives, pepperoni, mushrooms, fresh basil leaves, variety of cheeses.
How to make easy 2 ingredient Greek yogurt pizza dough recipe from scratch?

1. Add ingredients in bowl- This includes flour and yogurt.

2. Mix- Using a spoon.

3. Sprinkle additional flour- If dough feels sticky.

4. Knead- With your hands until you have a ball of dough.

5. Divide dough- Into two equal portions.

6. Form balls- For each portion of the dough.

7. Roll out dough- To about ¼ of an inch thickness.

8. Add toppings- And bake until cheese is fully melted and dough is cooked through.
What to serve with this?
This is quite filling on its own as a main course but you can turn it into a feast with these sides:
- Dipping sauces- Try some of my family favorites such as this Homemade Veggie Dip (One Bowl) or this Creamy Dill Dip (One Bowl) and definitely this Bacon Cheddar Ranch Dip (One Bowl) as well as this Cheddar Cheese Sauce (One Pot).
- Roasted Veggies- Such as these Oven Roasted Beets (One Pan), Oven Roasted Baby Potatoes (One Pan) or these Easy Roasted Vegetables (One Pan)
- Salads- Like a classic Caesar salad, Three Bean Salad (One Bowl), Cucumber Radish Salad (One Bowl) and even this Creamy Pea Salad (One Bowl).
- Fries- Enjoy this recipe with Crispy Zucchini Fries (One Pan), Baked Sweet Potato Fries (One Pan), or regular russet potato fries and even Crispy Fried Cheese Curds (One Pot).
- Wings- My brother loves this with chicken wings but a vegetarian and equally delicious option is my Baked Buffalo Cauliflower Wings (One Pan).

Tips and techniques
- If you don't have self-rising flour- Make a homemade substitute by combining together 1 cup all-purpose flour with 1.5 teaspoon baking powder ¼ teaspoon salt.
- Don't replace Greek yogurt with any other type of yogurt- Because the Greek one is thicker and the others have a thinner consistency that would make the dough very wet and sticky.
- Don't replace self-rising flour with any other flour- Because self-rising flour has baking powder that helps the dough rise, while baking.
- This dough is a little sticky- And yes! Additional flour needs to be sprinkled to make it easier to knead and roll.
- For a crispy crust- Pre-bake just the crust first without any toppings for about 8 minutes. Then, remove from oven and add your toppings and bake again until cheese is bubbly and edges are golden brown.
- Please make sure you are using plain yogurt- It should not be flavored. I once made the mistake of not reading the label properly and used vanilla yogurt accidentally. It was the worst pizza ever!
- Serve a crowd- By doubling or tripling the recipe and making multiple pizzas.
Recipe FAQs
Too much yogurt was added. Add more flour and knead until it's not sticky any more and the ingredients come together in a ball.
The dough cannot be made in advance because self-rising flour contains baking powder, which begins reacting and releasing gas as soon as it combines with the yogurt. If you let the dough sit for too long or store it overnight, the power of the baking powder diminishes. This would result in a dense, flat, gummy crust.
Yes, you can bake the crust ahead of time. Let this pre-baked crust cool completely on a cooling rack to prevent condensation. Then, store in the fridge, sealed tightly for 1 day. Next day, add your toppings and bake until cheese is fully melted.
Storage
- Refrigerate- Leftover baked pizza slices can be stored in a sealed container for up to 2 days.
- Freeze- I don't recommend this for both, the dough or the baked pizza, because it doesn't taste as good upon thawing. The texture of the cheese and dough becomes chewy and weird.
- Reheat- Baked pizza can be warmed up again in the microwave.
